Revert
Revert stands as a testament to the age-old battle between tradition's embrace and modernity's allure in the heart of the Middle East, a conflict that has surged in recent years. With lyrical verses penned by the renowned Iranian poet, Shams Langeroodi, and a haunting melody composed by Deeba Montazeri, this visual symphony seeks to intertwine with the poignant echoes of our shared history, resonating with the soul-stirring tales of our collective journey.
A minimal spatial narrative, this installation invites the viewer to follow the poem of 'Revert' facing away from the screen, and through a rear-view mirror. An extension of the poetic nature of this collaborative piece, the installation is low-tech, using rope to hang a mirror from a frame, resemblant of unjust execution of Iranian artist in the recent months and years.
